The Married-Man Magnet

What is it about a married man that some single women find so attractive?  Recently, celebrities like Fantasia and Alicia Keys have had relationships with married men, reflecting what we know to be an everyday occurence. I’m not saying the married man is not responsible for infidelity – after all, he is the one who made the marital commitment. However, I think there is some culpability for those who participate in the downfall of another person, kind of like aiding and abetting in a crime. Besides the scandal and drama of these relationships, what propels some single women knowingly toward married men?

Open relationships/Open marriage: An enigma

Over the past twenty or so years, there has been as sexual quickening or awakening within the African American community and there have been many new thoughts of expression to include open relationships. How does one define an open relationship? Wikipedia defines an open relationship as a relationship in which the people involved agree that they want to be together, but in which romantic or sexual relationships with additional people are accepted, permitted or tolerated. Though this is how the lifestyle is defined, I can remember a time when this same phenomenon was called having a casual relationship with casual sex. Therefore, in a marriage relationship, it would be considered permissive infidelity. I know persons that are married who say an open relationship helps to cultivate their marriage, and they believe by way of their own research that monogamous relationships kill the libido.
